It seems that there are still some really conscientious people still left in this world. Maybe that statement seems to have a little negative tone to it, but it’s probably for a reason. I have noticed in the past few years that people have a tendency to be a little less wanting to “get involved” in anything. Then something happens that totally surprises me. There are people out there that will actually go above and beyond to help a total stranger.

I run customer service for Service Dog Tags.com. I would like to make myself sound fancy and say I am the Supervisor or Chief of something but, in fact, I am the only customer service rep they have. So that just leave me being me. *smile*. Anyway. Twice now we have individuals call us stating that they found one of our tags on the ground or in a store and would love to return the tag to the owner. One tag was even attached to a set of keys. I’ll bet the owner was happy over that reunion!

Now I know, at that time, they would have have to hunt on line to find out who made those tags. Then find our phone number and call us to try and locate the owner.( Our tags only state the dog’s name, the owner’s and the city. No street address or phone number) Just for the simple fact that they would like to see the tags returned. A great big Texas sized hug for those wonderful good Samaritans.

Well we just made it a bit easier for lost tags to find their way home.

On our tags we now have printed “If Found please call 1-281-660-1600″ When a person finds the tags, they can call the phone number and give us the tag number. We will, with their permission of course, take their contact information. Then we will look up, contact the owner of the lost tag, and give them the finder’s contact info so they may retrieve their tag.

So far, this seems to be working out pretty good.

Just another service we offer to make life a little easier for our customers.

That was a heart-warming story. I understand totally what is meant by the statement: “There are still some really conscientious people still left in this world. ” We hear so much about the bad, that it’s encouraging to hear some good!

I, also, thank those good people for their efforts beyond the call of duty to return the lost tags and keys.

I’ve purchased Therapy Dog and Service Dog vests from http://www.sitstay.com for years. They are an honest, reliable company. Their website covers many items; scroll down their list on the left side of their site and click on Service Dogs and you’ll find whatever you need…vests, patches, etc.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and may all of our service dogs be blessed, twice!

Life as been very different since getting my tags for Tinkerbell my 20 bishon. She goes every where with me and she on 11-20-2011 she saved my life. I had a massive nearly fatal heart attack and she notified me just before it happened to sit down. No sooner did I listen to her than the heart attack hit and because I listened to her I was sitting right next to the phone. If I sit any where besides in my chair she won’t stop bothering me so that’s where I sat to wuiet her. The medics were very impressed with her and were also impressed with the tags she was wearing. Because of the tags they understood why she refused to leave my side while they worked on me before putting me in the ambulance. Even then she had to be held to get her to leave my side. Thanks for helping her save my life. The medics told us they would have been reluctant to treat me becuase of her if they hadn’t seen the tag she was wearing. I guess I owe you my life as much as I owe her.

I get my service dog vests at Activedog.com. They are good quality, and have a lot of choices too. PS for the first time in over 5 yrs I was approached at mcd by a very NEW foreign manager, NO PETS. I took him aside, quietly showed him the back of my tags from here, said call the 800# . He was sorry, didn’t know the law, etc. End of discussion!! Irony is, it was the same mcd where I started restaurant training my current dog end of April! Management changes when you aren’t looking, the other guy was more than happy since he remembered my other dog. I have been in other mcd and they try to bring food to my dog, etc. too. Bottom line, I love these tags!

Kudos to the person that found the tag and keys. That was a lot of work for them to track down information. Nice to know that are still some wonderful people out there.

I just arrived to Budapest with my beagle service dog, (with the service dog tag). Our trip was comfortable, and we got a special care all the way from Lufthansa…
Thank you for your service for us! The tag is a big help, love it!

I only have the ESA tag on my Servce Chihuahua, but have a Service Dog vest on him when we go anywhere. I will be getting a Service Dog Tag as soon as I have the money for it. Because he does not wear his vest at all times. When we are at home, I take it off of him, lettign him know he can play with his toys if he wants. But he is always on duty, 24/7, and has even spent time with me while I was in the hospital (he alerted my parents I was in distress, which we then found out I have COPD, and I have never smoked a day in my life, this was from secoond hand smoke) But the EM’s would not let my boy go with me in th ambulance, because he only had his ESA tag on, not a Service Dog Tag.

I was recently in a clothing store where a lady had a boxer type ‘service dog” that started snarling and growling across the isle at us. The owner seemed unprepared to deal with her dog and didn’t move.My very well behaved great dane balance dog kept her cool demeaner, but the other dog attracted alot of attention from customers and management. This has happened to me 3x now in different places with family pet dogs in businesses. Is there any “legaleze” I can state to other people whom have vicious dogs out to hurt my service dog? Any federal laws protecting service dogs? Karen
