Service dogs provide comfort for veterans back from war

I like the fact that more and more Vets are getting PTSD dogs. My husband used to suffer from terrible nightmares until he got his Service Dog. Years ago they used to tell Veterans just to deal with it. Or lock them up when they went completely over the edge. It’s nice that society is starting to take PTSD seriously.

Since Daquiri has joined me as my friend, playmate, companion, oh, and yess service dog a couple of years ago, and with the efforts of my doctors, I have been able to phase off my PTSD medication. Santa Rosa VA is a stong advocate for this program.

I believe I have already passed this information on, but just in case . . .

There is a great non-profit organization based in Rio Rancho, NM called Paws and Stripes that pairs Veterans diagnosed with PTSD and/or TBI with a dog and then takes the newly formed team through a unique training program that forms a strong Service Team. Check them out at:

I would like to share my Educational Opinion with you all. This is about a Veteran named Allen Grider and how his Rights are still being violated.
