My heart goes out to Greg. I hope someone out there in Texas will start educating people on the roles that dogs play in our lives. I too have a therapy and service dog for the same reason and every time I take my dog with me and I get asked questions, I try to educate the public. I also train dogs, so I have a lot to say to people. Having a service vest and proper ID on your dog will definitely cut down on conflicts. Gee, maybe the University can add a “Service Dog” class to their curriculum. Good luck to you Greg. Keep fighting for you and your dog.
Maybe the Director of Housing, and the Commutations Director, need some education themselves. I totally dislike uneducated people in authority. Give them some authority and they think they are a dictator. I hope they are totally explained to by the Attorney General, and be forced to leave their jobs, to serve as an example that the disabled have rights.
UM!.. greg is full of crap.. i lived in the dorm.. he called many many times prior to moving to the campus. he was transferring in from a community college. never in any of those calls, most were just because he was excited to move there. he never, ever, ever stated anything about his condition.. nor his need for a service dog. UNTIL! 2 months into living there. he just tried to bring his dog and he bragged to us residents about how he was going to get the dog into the dorm in a very arrogant way. so please.. Remember!!! there is always TWO SIDES to story.. i know there are people that require needs for a dog.. we have a blind professor on campus with a service dog. he had bragged about how he wanted to bring his dog as a mascot and the univeristy would make national news!! after he was informed about the Professor already had a dog.. then he stated.. they would just make Regional news… trust me.. the guy needs more help then a dog can give him.. not to mention his alcoholic problem…

Greg Alan Stelfox, Corpus Christi, driving while intoxicated, second offense; driving while license invalid with previous conviction or suspension.
this story sounds like an attempt to make news discrediting a University…. I agree there are 2 sides to the story, but the rest of this one won’t sell newspapers…
Excellent site, keep up the good work
